What's scary about a photo cleanup app is deleting something by accident. A burst of ten shots that yields one keeper; the same photo saved three times through a messenger — PhotoSweep finds them all, but it is careful about deleting.
Most cleanup apps default to "select all." PhotoSweep doesn't have that button at all.
Selecting every photo in a group simply cannot be done. The sharpest shot always survives.
No hard-coded blur number. It reads the sharpness distribution of your own photos and calls only the bottom few percent blurry.
Single-item categories like screenshots and blurry shots start with zero selected. Only what you pick gets deleted.
Identical copies, similar shots, messenger resaves, out-of-focus frames, too dark or blown out, closed eyes, screenshots, document photos, old large videos.
Shrink lowers resolution instead of removing the photo, and carries capture info and orientation across unchanged.
What was sent and when is recorded and can be reversed. On Android 11+ it goes to the system trash, recoverable for 30 days.
All analysis finishes on this device. There is no account, no login and no
server. All it stores per photo is one fingerprint plus numbers such as sharpness, size and
date — and those values cannot reconstruct a photo.
