Common rules
- Set foot and did something — ate, walked, looked around.
- It was the destination — stricter.
- Stayed a night — strictest; your painted count drops a lot.
Mark pass-throughs separately
For places you don’t want to erase but can’t honestly paint, log them as passed through. If your rule changes later, the records are still there.
Doing it in the app

Just passed through
Turn on Just passed through on a visit card in Korea Visited and the area is shown hatched. From I’m here, tap Just passing to log it on the spot.

Keep them out of stats
In Map options, Leave passed-through places out of stats removes them from progress while the map still shows them hatched.
FAQ
Can I upgrade a pass-through to a visit later?
Turn the switch off on its visit card.
Can I log the same place several times?
