Korea’s 633 km cross-country bike path:
stamps, days and training

Korea’s cross-country route runs about 633 km from Incheon to Busan on dedicated bike paths, and riders collect stamps along the way. The hard part is less the finish than choosing your daily distance and building up to it.

The 633 km route

The route starts at the Ara West Sea Lock in Incheon and links the Ara, Hangang, Namhangang, Saejae and Nakdonggang bike paths to the Nakdong River Estuary Bank in Busan, about 633 km in total. The Saejae section crosses a mountain pass, so it is not all flat riverside riding.

How certification works

Where to buy the booklet, centre locations and hours, and how to apply for the medal can change, so check the operator’s current notice before you go. Missing a single stamp can mean backtracking, which is why many riders pin every centre on their map in advance.

Days by daily distance

Per dayDays for 633 kmWho it suits
60 km (37 mi)about 11Few long rides so far, sightseeing pace

Adjust around where you can sleep and around the pass: shorter on the climbing day, longer on the flat Nakdong River stretch.

This is general exercise information, not medical advice. If you have a heart, lung or joint condition, are pregnant, or are returning to exercise after a long break, talk to a doctor first. Stop riding if you feel chest pain, dizziness or unusual breathlessness.

Training before you go

For a 100 km-a-day plan, ride at least one 100 km day before the trip, and ideally two long days back to back. Build weekly distance gradually and note how you feel the next morning; that note becomes your guide for daily distance on the route.

During the trip, one entry per day

At each night’s stop, enter that day’s distance and the section in the memo, for example Chungju to Mungyeong. Consecutive days also build your streak.

FAQ

Is the app’s “Four-Rivers” landmark the same route?

Its 633 km matches the Incheon to Busan cross-country distance. Follow the operator for the official route names and sections.

Does the app count as certification?

No. It is a personal log; official certification comes only from the booklet or the official app.

Can I ride it in winter?

Ice and short days cut your daily distance. See winter riding and recalculate.
