The formula
Daily saving = pack price ÷ cigarettes per pack × cigarettes per day. Multiply by the number of smoke-free days for your running total. Lighters, gum and the coffee you bought to go with a cigarette are not included, so treat the result as a minimum.
Savings table
The table uses a 20-cigarette pack priced at 10 units of your currency (so 0.50 per cigarette). Scale it: if your pack costs 15, multiply every figure by 1.5.
| Cigarettes per day | Per day | 30 days | 365 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 2.50 | 75 | 912.50 |
| 10 (half pack) | 5 | 150 | 1,825 |
| 20 (one pack) | 10 | 300 | 3,650 |
| 30 (pack and a half) | 15 | 450 | 5,475 |
Price rises are not included. The number only becomes real money if you move it somewhere: a weekly transfer of your daily saving × 7 into a separate account turns “money saved” into a balance you can see.
Adding vape or heated tobacco costs
Heated tobacco sticks come in packs, so enter them as packs. For refillable vapes, convert your weekly spend: set pack price = weekly cost, cigarettes per pack = 7 and cigarettes per day = 1. The daily saving then equals one seventh of your weekly cost, though the “cigarettes avoided” figure will count days, not cigarettes. Whether switching counts as quitting is covered in Does switching to vaping count?
The two totals in the app

Enter your smoking info
In Quit Smoking Tracker, tap the gear icon, then “Smoking info (price · cigs)” and enter price per pack, cigarettes per day and cigarettes per pack. Until you do, the app uses its defaults (4,500 per pack, 20 a day, 20 per pack).

Record tab: current streak only
“Money saved” on the Record tab multiplies the daily saving by your current streak. Tap “I smoked today” and the streak, and this figure, start over.

Stats tab: every smoke-free day
“Money saved” and “Cigarettes avoided” on the Stats tab count all days you marked smoke-free. A slip does not erase earlier days, which makes this the more honest number for motivation.
The app’s screenshots show sample amounts in Korean won (4,500 per pack is the app default), and the Settings sheet title is shown in Korean in the current English version. Enter your own local pack price; the calculation works the same in any currency.
FAQ
If cigarette prices go up, does my past total change?
Yes. The app recalculates the whole period with the price currently set.
I don’t remember how many I smoked a day.
Work backwards from how many packs you bought a week. Three packs a week is roughly 8 to 9 a day.
Does quitting support cost money?
Many quitlines and stop smoking services are free. See free quitlines and stop smoking services.
