What a prestige does
In most idle games a prestige resets your current currency and upgrades and gives you a permanent currency based on how much you earned this run. That permanent currency multiplies everything in the next run. The key question is how much faster the next run gets back to where you are now.
A timing rule
The simplest yardstick is a ratio:
multiplier after prestige ÷ current multiplier
| Ratio | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Under 1.1× | Too early. Keep growing |
| Around 1.5× | Worth it if growth has slowed |
| 2× or more | Prestiging is almost always faster |
Doubling your multiplier roughly halves the time to get back to the same point. Early on the ratio grows quickly, so the usual advice is to prestige early the first time and use the ratio after that.
Signs of a slowdown
- The wait for the next upgrade grows from minutes to tens of minutes
- The amount left to the next milestone barely moves
- Prestige currency on offer grows slowly compared with time spent (many games use a square-root-like curve that flattens out)
Spend or save
In some games, spending prestige currency on permanent upgrades lowers your multiplier. Compare the multiplier you lose with the effect you gain. Buy what fits your play style first — longer idle time if you are away a lot, combo upgrades if you tap a lot — and keep the rest.
In the game

The Big Bang restart card
At the bottom of the Universe tab in Infinite Universe, the Big Bang restart card shows how much more energy you need, and once available, how many singularities you would get. Each singularity adds +10% to all energy gains forever. Tap Big Bang and a confirmation shows the singularities gained, the energy multiplier change (for example x1.3 → x1.8) and what you lose (current energy, total upgrade levels). Achievements, fact cards, research and best records are kept.
Cosmic constants research
Tap the singularity counter at the top left of the Universe tab to open Cosmic constants. Spend singularities on Time dilation (idle limit), Resonance (max combo), Primordial seed (starting energy), Vacuum engine (pre-upgraded generator) and Nova taps (occasional x10 taps). A confirmation first shows how much your energy multiplier drops.

Big Bang history and stage times
Time to each stage on the Stats tab shows this run next to your best run. If you reach the same stages much faster after a Big Bang, your timing was good. The Big Bang history chart shows how far each run went.
FAQ
What does the ad option on the Big Bang do?
In Infinite Universe the ad button in the confirmation lets you Big Bang for 1.5× the singularities (rounded up). If no ad can load, you still get the reward.
Do I lose my fact cards after a Big Bang?
No. Cards, achievements, research and best records all stay.
