Three ways games save
| Method | When you change phones | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Account / server save | Log in and continue | Managing the account; progress can vanish if the service shuts down |
| On-device save + backup feature | Back up and move it yourself | No backup means no recovery |
| On-device save, no backup | Start over | Check before you switch |
Where to keep backup text
- Email it to yourself: easy to open and copy on the new phone
- A synced notes app: follows you to the new phone on the same account
- A chat with yourself in a messenger: quick, though old chats may get cleared
Backup text is game data, not a password, but anyone who pastes it gets your progress. Don’t post it publicly.
Moving step by step
- On the old phone, finish your last run, then back up (a run in progress is not included)
- Paste it somewhere safe and check it opens on the new phone
- Install the game on the new phone and restore
- Compare the Records numbers with the old phone before removing the app there
In WingBike
Settings → Back up data
In WingBike Settings, under Data, tap Back up data to get a text containing your records, coins, stars, parts, skills and skins. Tap Copy and paste it into an email or note.
Restore on the new phone
Install WingBike on the new phone and paste the text into Settings → Restore. Current data is replaced by the backup. If the text isn’t a WingBike backup, you’ll see “That does not look like a WingBike backup.” and nothing changes.

Check after restoring
On the Records screen, check that best altitude, run count and totals match the old phone. 24-hour boosts from ads are not part of the backup and need to be claimed again.
FAQ
If I uninstall and reinstall, is my progress kept?
For games that only save on the device, assume uninstalling erases progress. Back up first.
What if I paste only part of the backup?
The format breaks and restore is refused. Use the Copy button and paste the whole thing unchanged.
