Two kinds of bucket list items
| Kind | Examples | Counted in |
|---|---|---|
| Comes around yearly | Cherry blossoms, first snow, a yearly race | Years left = chances left |
| Only once | A long pilgrimage, writing a book, a big move | Weeks left until the deadline |
Counting chances
At 40, "see cherry blossoms until 70" leaves 30 seasons. With no deadline, counting to a life expectancy of 87, it is 47. A once-only goal such as "publish a book by 50" is counted in weeks: about 520.
The point for yearly items: miss a year and you lose a chance. For once-only goals: the weeks left shrink by one every week.
Fewest chances first
Look at items with the fewest chances left first, not the most urgent. For anything physically demanding, an earlier deadline is more realistic: 15 "while my knees are good" may be a more honest number than 30 until age 70.
Doing it in the app

Share card
Tap an item under My bucket list on the Life tab to make a share card showing its chances left. It is made after a short ad, and still made if no ad is ready.
