The five-point checklist
| Item | Good sign | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Offline | Everything works in airplane mode | Levels download online; play stops when the connection drops |
| Permissions | No permission requests | A puzzle asking for location, contacts or microphone |
| Ads | You can keep playing without watching ads | Ads required for the next level or to refill lives |
| Account | Play right after installing | Sign-up or login required |
| Records | A backup and restore option | A new phone means starting over |
Checking on the store page
- Data safety: what data the developer declares it collects and shares.
- App permissions: listed in the app’s details on the store page.
- “Contains ads” / “In-app purchases”: shown under the app name. Whether ads block play matters more than whether they exist.
- Offline mentions in the description, and recent reviews saying things like “doesn’t work without internet”.
After installing
- If text or lines are small, raise the in-game thickness setting or the phone’s font size.
- Turn off vibration if it is distracting.
- For someone who gets stuck easily, switch on any beginner aids.
- Walk through the backup once together.
How OneTrail compares

The five points
According to its store listing, OneTrail runs start to finish in airplane mode, has no account or login, and uses no location, camera, microphone or storage permission. Ads never gate the game, and if a hint video cannot load, the hints are granted anyway. There is a banner ad at the bottom.
Making it easy to see
Settings let you change the theme (system, light, dark), Line thickness (thin, normal, thick), Left-handed layout and vibration. For someone who gives up easily, turn on Block dead-end moves.
Backing up records
Copy backup in settings copies all records to the clipboard as a single string. Keep it in a notes app or send it to yourself; to restore, copy the string and tap Restore backup.
FAQ
Is it on iPhone?
OneTrail is currently released as an Android app.
I am worried my parent will tap an ad and get charged.
OneTrail shows a banner and optional reward videos. Tapping an ad normally just opens a browser or store page rather than charging anything, but if you are concerned, turn on purchase authentication in the Play Store settings.
OneTrail: One Line Draw Puzzle
