Why income must be combined
Korean income tax is progressive and applies to the whole year’s gross pay. Two halves of 25 million KRW each sit in a low bracket on their own but not together. Your previous employer also settled your tax when you left, applying full-year basic deductions; once combined, those deductions count only once.
What you need
- The earned income withholding receipt from your previous employer. Ask their HR, or download it from Hometax once the employer has filed it.
- Submit it to your current employer at the year-end settlement so the income is combined.
- If it was not combined, you must file both incomes together in the May income tax return of the following year. Not filing can lead to a later assessment with penalties.
If you stopped working
If you do not work again before year-end, the settlement your employer did on departure (basic deductions only) stands. To add card or medical deductions from the months you worked, file in May the following year. If you are leaving Korea for good, ask HR or the NTS about settling before departure.

Enter both salaries together
Enter the sum of both employers’ taxable gross pay and your full-year card and medical spending.

Enter combined tax already paid
Under “Enter tax already paid”, add the final income tax on the previous employer’s receipt to the income tax withheld by your current employer this year. The automatic estimate assumes one employer all year, so always enter it in a job-change year.
The app’s English screens show amounts with the Korean won sign, and the saved-scenario card keeps a few Korean labels in the current version.
