Traveling as a group?
Shared items, one person each

More travelers means more luggage, but shared items don’t need to multiply. Each one needs just one packer.

Personal vs shared

Passport, wallet, phoneHair dryer

ToiletriesFirst-aid kit
Phone chargerDetergent, laundry bag
Own prescriptionsUmbrella, picnic mat

Assigning owners

If no one owns a shared item, either nobody packs it or everybody does. Give it to whoever has room or uses it most. Spread heavy shared items across people to stay under checked-bag limits.

Sharing the list

Once owners are set, post the list in your group chat. The night before, each person checks only their own items.

Doing it in the app

1

People and owners

Set the number of travelers in Packing List, then assign each item an owner (1, 2, …) or Shared ("Ours — only one of you needs to pack it"). Two people are free; three or more unlock for 3 days with one ad.

2

Share as text

From the share button, Text checklist creates the list with a header such as "packed 10/36 (28%)", ready to paste into a chat. You can also share a printable PDF or a completion card image.

3

Same trip again

Duplicate a past trip and the split carries over to the next one.

FAQ

Can everyone tick the same list on their own phone?

There is no sync. One person manages the list and shares it as text or PDF.

Whose bag counts the shared weight?

Weight is added to the bag set on the item, so decide whose suitcase it goes in.
