A 10-cell example (○ = one Korean syllable): title on line 2, name on line 3 with two empty cells on the right, text from line 5.
Centering the title
- Empty cells on the left = (cells per line − title cells) ÷ 2. A 4-cell title on a 20-cell line starts after 8 empty cells.
- A very short title is sometimes spread out with one empty cell between letters.
- No period after a title.
- From page two on, start writing on the first line. Only a new paragraph gets an empty first cell.
How the app places the title
The Android app Manuscript Paper puts the title as empty line → centered title → empty line, then the text. It does not add a name line, so if your name must be on the paper, write it on line 3 by hand and move the text down.
Use the title field
The top field on the Write tab is for the title only. If you type the title as the first line of the body, it is treated as an indented paragraph.
Check it on the View tab
After saving, the View tab shows the page large enough to count which cell the title starts in.
The sheet count includes the title
The sheet count includes the three title lines. The character count covers the body only, without spaces.
The app’s English screenshots show a Korean sample text, because the grid is meant for writing in Korean.

Do I write a title in the TOPIK writing section?
The tasks do not ask for one. Start your answer directly. See the TOPIK answer sheet guide.
Does my name go in English or Korean?
Follow your teacher or the contest. If the paper is in Korean, the name is usually written the way it appears on your class list.
