Plan your breaks
- Treat holidays and trips as "log-only periods".
- At family meals, eat with everyone instead of sitting it out; just keep an eye on when you finish.
- Post-holiday weight gain is largely salt, water and food still being digested. Give it a few days.
Restart short
Jumping straight back to 16:8 or longer after a break can make hunger feel intense. Start with 12:12 or 14:10 for a few days and return to your usual rhythm within a week. Fasting 24 hours or more "to make up" is not recommended.
Crossing time zones
On long-haul trips, eating and sleeping on local time comes before fasting. The app’s timer counts real elapsed time, so the remaining time stays correct when you change time zones, and the start and goal times are shown in your phone’s current time zone. For jet lag, see jet lag sleep plan.
How the app counts streaks

What the streak counts
"Current streak" in Stats is the number of consecutive days on which a goal-reaching fast ended. If you have not finished a fast today, it counts back from yesterday. Fasts under the goal do not count.
24-hour fasts break streaks easily
Alternate-day 24h fasts end every other day, so the streak never builds. A broken streak is not a failure; look at Fasts per month and Goal success rate instead.

Compare before and after with the period filter
Switch the Stats period between "Last 3 months" and "This year" to see whether your average duration has recovered. In History you can pick start and end dates to view just the holiday period.
FAQ
Should I keep fasting on vacation to protect my streak?
A streak is only a motivation tool. Taking breaks and restarting is more sustainable in the long run.
Will my log move to a new phone?
Records are stored only on the device with no account or cloud sync, so they do not transfer automatically.
